  • In a bowl, combine all the marinade ingredients. Mix well until the brown sugar has dissolved, and you have a smooth teriyaki marinade.
  • Place the flank steak in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the teriyaki marinade over the steak, ensuring it's evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, then refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat, about 400°F -450°F (200°C-232°C).
  • Place the marinated flank steak on the preheated grill. Grill for approximately 6-7 minutes on each side until it reaches a medium-rare temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit (63 degrees Celsius). While grilling, brush the steak with the remaining teriyaki marinade to enhance the flavor.
  • Remove the grilled flank steak from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice the steak thinly against the grain for the most tenderness.
  • Serve the teriyaki flank steak slices over a bed of cooked white rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

The cooking time required to achieve your preferred level of doneness for the steak will vary based on the cut's type and thickness.
