  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the Shaoxing wine, ground black pepper, salt and cornstarch. Add the beef in the bowl. Marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  • Combine the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and mix well. Set aside.
  • Add oil to a wok and heat it over medium-high heat until hot. Stir-fry the beef until the bottom turns golden brown, approximately 1 minute. Flip and brown the other side for about 30 seconds. Transfer the beef to a plate.
  • Reserve 1 tablespoon of oil in the wok, stir the sauce again to prevent starch precipitation, and pour it into the pan. Adjust to medium heat, bring the sauce to a boil, stir and cook until the sauce thickens.
  • Return the beef to the wok and toss to coat with the sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over cooked white rice.
