  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, minced mushrooms and marinade ingredients. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  • Prepare the gluten balls by using a chopstick to make a hole without piercing all the way through. Use your fingers to gently separate the fibers of the gluten ball to create space for the filling. Set aside.
  • Take a small portion of the meat mixture and stuff it into each gluten ball. Press gently to seal the opening. Repeat until all the gluten balls are stuffed.
  • Prepare the sauce by combining all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Stir well until the sugar dissolves.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the stuffed gluten balls in the heated skillet and fry until they turn golden brown. Pour in the sauce and water to the skillet. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover the skillet with a lid and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked.
  • Mix cornstarch with water, then pour the slurry into the skillet and cook for 1 minute.
  • Transfer the stuffed gluten balls to a serving dish and garnish with some chopped green onions. Serve hot as a main dish. Enjoy!
