  • In a bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water and let sit for 10 minutes.
  • In another large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and garlic powder until well combined.
  • Add the yogurt, egg, and yeast mixture to the flour, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until you get a soft dough. Then incorporate the softened butter into the dough. Cover the dough with a damp cloth. Leave at room temperature until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  • Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Roll out each ball into a round shape, about 1/4 inch (0.6cm) thick.
  • Preheat a pan over medium-high heat and lightly oil the pan. Sprinkle garlic and cilantro on top of each naan, gently pressing the garlic into the dough. Place the naan on the preheated pan with the garlic side facing up. Cook for approximately 1-2 minutes until the naan begins to puff up and the bottom turns golden brown. Flip the naan over and cook the other side for an additional 1-2 minutes until it achieves a golden brown color.
  • Serve hot with your favorite Indian dish.
