  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, instant yeast, and salt thoroughly. While stirring, gradually add lukewarm water. Continue stirring until a dough forms.
  • Mix 2 teaspoons (7g) cornstarch with 1/3 cup water to make a slurry.
  • Place the dough on a floured surface, knead for about 5 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. Then place the dough in a bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until the dough doubles in size.
  • Meanwhile, put all the ingredients for the filling into a large bowl. Mix thoroughly.
  • Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down to release any air bubbles. Divide the dough into 25 small portions and roll each portion into a ball. Flatten each dough ball with your palm and use a rolling pin to roll it into a circle, about 3 inches (7.5 cm) in diameter.
  • Place 1-2 tablespoons of the pork filling in the center of each dough circle. Stretch and pinch the edges of the dough into pleats, surrounding the filling until you seal the bun. Repeat this process until all the dough and filling are used.
  • Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add vegetable oil. Place the buns in the skillet, leaving some space between them. Slowly pour in the slurry, then quickly cover the skillet with a lid. Adjust the heat to medium-low and fry the buns for 10-12 minutes or until the moisture evaporates. Remove the lid and continue cooking for an additional 1 minute to crisp up the bottoms of the buns. Sprinkle it with sesame seeds and green onions. Enjoy these delicious pan-fried pork buns while they're hot!
