One of the great virtues of garlic bread is its simplicity. With just a few staple ingredients, you can transform a basic baguette into a mouthwatering masterpiece. Slicing the bread in half, spreading a generous layer of garlic-infused butter, and toasting it to perfection. Garlic bread is a harmonious marriage of crusty bread, aromatic garlic, and rich, creamy butter.

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C).
  • Slice the French baguette in half lengthwise, creating two long pieces. Place them on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic and chopped parsley. Mix them together until well combined.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of both baguette halves. Make sure to cover the entire surface. If you like your garlic bread cheesy, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the buttered surface of the bread.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the bread is toasted and the edges turn golden brown. Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning. Once the garlic bread is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly for a minute. Slice it into individual servings.

Notes

You can customize your garlic bread by adding grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese for a gooey, cheesy twist. For extra flavor, you can sprinkle some dried oregano or red pepper flakes on top of the garlic butter before baking.
