Ingredients
-
4
salmon fillets
-
1
green onion
(thinly sliced)
-
Sesame seeds
Teriyaki Sauce:
-
1/4
cup
(60ml) soy sauce
-
1/2
cup
(118ml) mirin
(sweet rice wine)
-
2
tbsp
(30ml) sake
(or white wine)
-
2
tbsp
(30ml) honey
-
1
tsp
(2g) grated fresh ginger
-
2
cloves garlic
(minced)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
-
In a small saucepan, combine Teriyaki sauce ingredients. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Simmer for 5-7 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove it from the heat and allow it to cool for a bit.
-
Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the teriyaki sauce over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well-coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator. Reserve the remaining sauce for later.
-
Remove the marinated salmon from the refrigerator and place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. In the last 5 minutes of baking, brush the reserved teriyaki sauce over the salmon fillets to create a flavorful glaze. This adds a delicious caramelized finish. Once baked, garnish with thinly sliced green onions and sprinkle sesame seeds over the top for an extra touch of flavor and presentation.
-
Serve the Baked Teriyaki Salmon over steamed rice or your favorite vegetables. Drizzle any remaining teriyaki sauce over the top, and enjoy this flavorful and easy-to-make salmon dish!
