Sauce:

Instructions

In a small bowl, whisk together sugar, oyster sauce, soy sauce, water and cornstarch. Stir to combine.

Separate the iceberg lettuce leaves, thoroughly wash them, drain excess water, and set them aside.

In a pot, add water and bring to a boil over high heat. Add a pinch of salt and ΒΌ teaspoon (1g) of oil, then blanch the lettuce for 10 seconds. Transfer the lettuce onto a plate, drain off any excess water.

Heat a wok over medium-high heat, then add cooking oil.

Add the minced garlic to the hot oil and stir-fry for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant. Then, pour in the sauce and bring the mixture to a simmer.

Pour the sauce over the cooked lettuce, and serve immediately.
