Ingredients
  • 1 bunch Chinese broccoli (Jie lan)
  • 1 tbsp (13g) vegetable oil (divided)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • Sauce:
  • 1 tbsp (18g) oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp (16g) soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp (2g) sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30g) water
  • 1 tsp (4g) cornstarch
Instructions
  1. Thoroughly wash the Chinese broccoli and trim off the tough parts.
  2. Add a pinch of salt and 1 teaspoon (4.5g) of vegetable oil to a pot of water. Bring the water to a boil. Place the Chinese broccoli in the boiling water, allowing them to cook for about 2-3 minutes. Thoroughly drain the Chinese broccoli and then place them on a dish.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the sauce ingredients and stir until thoroughly mixed.
  4. Heat the remaining 2 teaspoons (9g) of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 20 seconds.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce into the pan and bring it to a boil to thicken.
  6. Pour the sauce on the top of the Chinese broccoli. Enjoy the delightful flavors of tender Chinese broccoli coated in savory oyster sauce!
