(450g) thin beef sirloin or flank steak
(sliced into thin strips)

Teriyaki Sauce:

(sweet rice wine)

Instructions

In a bowl, combine Teriyaki sauce ingredients. Mix well.

Cut the asparagus in half. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, add the asparagus and cook for 2-3 minutes . Drain thoroughly and transfer them to a plate.

Take a beef strip and place asparagus spears at one end. Roll the beef around the asparagus. Repeat for the remaining beef strips and asparagus.

In a skillet, heat vegetable oil on medium high heat. Fry the beef and asparagus rolls in batches, cook until the beef has a nice char, and then transfer them to a plate.

Return all the beef and asparagus rolls to the skillet and pour the teriyaki sauce over them. Reduce the heat to medium and roll the beef and asparagus rolls so they are evenly coated with teriyaki sauce.

Transfer the beef and asparagus rolls to a plate. Cook the teriyaki sauce for a couple of minutes or until thickened. Drizzle the teriyaki sauce over the beef and asparagus rolls.
