Ingredients
  • 3 ripe bananas (about 1 cup / 200g)
  • 1/3 cup (76 g) butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp (6g) baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
  • 3/4 cup (149g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp (4g) vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup (180g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (63g) walnuts (chopped)
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Peel the ripe bananas and place them in a large mixing bowl. Mash the bananas with a fork until they are smooth. You can leave some small chunks for texture if you prefer. Pour the melted butter into the mashed bananas and stir until well combined.
  3. Add the baking soda, salt, sugar, egg and vanilla extract to the banana mixture, and mix thoroughly. Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the banana mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in walnuts.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 60-65 minutes. Baking times may vary, so it's a good idea to start checking at 60 minutes.
  5. Once baked, remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack. Wait until it has cooled completely before slicing.
